2021 Seat Ibiza Facelift Revealed With A New Interior And A Sharper Infotainment System

Seat has revealed the facelifted Ibiza, alongside the new Arona, featuring a refreshed exterior and a new interior with more modern tech and an updated design.

The facelift of the new Ibiza comes with subtle exterior changes, including full LED lights all around. SE and SE Technology models are fitted with Eco LEDs as standard, while FR models and upwards get the full LED package.

In addition, Seat has added three new wheel designs – two 17-inch alloy wheel options for the FR, Xcellence, and Xcellence Lux trim levels, and one 18-inch design for the FR Sport. SE and SE Technology models get 15- and 16-inch alloys. The changes also include the model’s name in Seat’s latest ‘handwritten’ lettering, as well as two new exterior colors, Sapphire Blue, and Asphalt Blue.

The biggest changes are found once you open the door of the new Ibiza, as you’re greeted by a new dashboard design and materials, as well as a new bigger touchscreen display for the infotainment system. SE models get an 8.25-inch display while the larger 9.2-inch display is offered on SE Technology models and above.

The new Full Link infotainment system comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, as well as Seat Connect services and natural voice recognition. Thanks to the built-in SIM module, the new Ibiza remains always connected, allowing it to contact emergency services in case of an incident, as well as using real-time data for the infotainment system. In addition, there’s a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster on FR Sport and Xcellence Lux models.

The dashboard is built from a softer material for a greater level of perceived quality while the redesigned air vents are now illuminated by LEDs. Other features include the new multifunction steering wheel dressed in Nappa leather.

The refreshed Ford Fiesta rival also comes with an extended range of active safety systems that now include Side Assist, and High Beam Assist, in addition to the semi-autonomous Travel Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition.

The new Seat Ibiza will launch in the UK market with three petrol 1.0-liter three-cylinder engines. The base model gets a naturally aspirated unit with 79 HP (80 PS) paired to a five-speed manual transmission, while the range is completed with two turbocharged EcoTSI units with 94 HP (95 PS) and 108 HP (110 PS) respectively. The more powerful 108 HP variant is paired either to a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Production of the new Ibiza will start in the third quarter of the year, with pricing details to be revealed closer to the model’s market launch.
