Hyundai’s long-awaited Santa Cruz pickup truck was finally unveiled yesterday and a handful of YouTube channels have had the opportunity to take a close look at it.
These videos come from the likes of Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, Roadshow, and Autotrader and allows us to get up close and personal with the Santa Cruz. Until we have the opportunity to see it and drive it for ourselves, this is our best opportunity to see what the intriguing small pickup is all about.

The Hyundai Santa Cruz has a similar front-end design to the 2022 Tucson and also has similarly-edgy and aggressive styling as the crossover. The pickup is also noticeably smaller than some of its rivals like the Toyota Tacoma, Honda Ridgeline, and Nissan Frontier. In fact, it is just 195.7-inches long, considerably less than the 212.2 inches of the Tacoma, 210 inches of the Ridgeline, and the 205.5-inch Frontier.
Two engines will be offered with the Santa Cruz in the United States. The first is a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder promising over 190 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque while a flagship model with more than 275 hp and 310 lb-ft will also be offered. Coupled to the naturally-aspirated unit is an 8-speed automatic transmission while the 2.5-liter turbo is coupled to a dual-clutch with paddle shifters. All variants come standard with HTRAC all-wheel drive.
Hyundai refers to the Santa Cruz as a ‘Sport Adventure Vehicle’ rather than a unibody pickup and it certainly appears to have all the right ingredients to be a strong seller.
