This Nissan 350Z Is Owned By A True Star Wars Fanatic

There are some very weird cars on California’s roads and the Nissan 350Z owned by Shawn Crosby is one of them.

Crosby’s creation has gone viral on Reddit on a number of occasions over the years and recently gained trained on the ever-popular Shitty_Car_Mods subreddit, attracting well over 4,000 upvotes. While one could be excused for thinking this is a movie prop, it is in fact fully functional and has been on Californian roads for over five years.

While researching the car, we stumbled upon an interview that Crosby did with the HACKADAY channel on YouTuber in December 2015. In the clip, Crosby reveals that he frequently dresses up as Obi-Wan Kenobi and makes appearances at children’s hospitals throughout the U.S., earning him the nickname of Obi-Shawn. He used to own a Star Wars-themed Honda Del Sol but decided he needed something a little newer so he purchased a used Nissan 350Z Cabriolet with approximately 60,000 miles on the clock. He also said that the car was currently sitting at 124,000 miles, to which many more must have been added in the five and a half years since.

Adorning the exterior of the 350Z is a special paint job fitting of a vehicle from Star Wars. Sitting on the rear decklid is a replica of R2D2 and a set of faux jet thrusters. What’s particularly impressive about the car is the fact that most of its parts were made from cheap, recycled materials that you can find in your home or at a discount store, yet the end result doesn’t look half bad.
