From the moment Toyota first announced the rally-bred GR Yaris, it was inevitable that a vast world of aftermarket options would open up for the potent hot hatch. Clearly, owners have wasted no time in starting to modify their new GR Yaris’s and this particular example from Germany is especially eye-catching.

The first thing that differentiates this GR Yaris from a standard model are the wheels. They come from Barracuda Racing Wheels and are dubbed the ‘Shoxx’ and measure 19×9 at all four corners. These wheels have been given a lovely bronze finish and are wrapped in Yokohama Advan Fleva tires that measure 235/35.

I’ve personally always been a fan of black cars with bronze wheels, so much so that I put bronze wheels on the black Honda Integra Type S that I owned a few years ago. These particular wheels suit the styling of the GR Yaris perfectly and nicely contrast the bright red brake calipers.

The owner of this GR Yaris has also made a handful of other small changes, including the fitment of carbon fiber splash guards and a set of H&R springs that lower the ride height by 35 mm. Completing the upgrades is a Milltek sports exhaust system that no doubt makes the Toyota sound like a legitimate rally car.

As a reminder, the 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder of the GR Yaris pumps out 257 hp and 266 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque in European specification, allowing it to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in the mid-5-second range.
