Lamborghini’s track-only hypercar, the stunning Essenza SCV12, will make its debut in Asphalt 9: Legends next week.

The Italian exotic will enter the digital racing realm on May 13, giving mobile phone gamers the opportunity to drive it on the most picturesque roads in the world.

“Gaming certainly has a more playful and less realistic approach, but it’s an important tool for introducing our cars to the general public and the younger generation”, Lamborghini’s Motorsport Division chief, Giorgio Sanna, said. “For this reason, we are very pleased that the Essenza SCV12 has been chosen by Asphalt 9: Legends, allowing players to experience the thrill of getting behind the wheel of our track-only hypercar.”

Starting next Thursday, gamers from all over the world will have to choose one of eight available colors before competing in the “Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 Challenge”. The event will be held in one round of three open qualifying sessions, from May 13 to 16, June 10 to 13, and July 1 to 4. According to the Italian automaker, the first 100 gamers will take part in closed qualifying sessions between August 5 and 8, and the best eight will put their skills to the test in the grand finale on September 18.

Production of the Essenza SCV12 is capped at 40 units. It was presented last summer and boasts a carbon fiber monocoque that meets FIA prototype safety standards even though it does not feature an internal roll cage. It also features the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 engine ever developed by Lamborghini, which pumps out 830 PS (818 HP / 610 kW).
