Kia has made a few adjustments to the Seltos lineup for the 2022 model year, introducing more gear across the range and a new Nightfall Edition.

Priced at $26,690, excluding the $1,175 destination and handling taxes and dealer fees, the special specification of the small crossover gets a bespoke black grille, more rugged roof rails and side sills, and 18-inch matte black alloy wheels.

These add up to the already available standard features, which include an array of safety gear, such as the forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, lane following assist, rear blind-spot collision avoidance assist and rear cross traffic alert.

Powering the new Seltos Night Edition is a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine which produces 175 HP and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque, paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.

The same mill is used in the range-topping SX AWD. The LX AWD entry-level, S FWD, S AWD and EX AWD are offered solely with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated unit, rated at 146 HP and 132 lb-ft (179 Nm).

Other novelties for the 2022MY are the introduction of standard forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, lane following assist and high beam assist across the range. The S FWD and AWD feature a 10.25-inch infotainment system, UVO link connectivity, automatic climate control and remote start, while the SX AWD has gained a flat-bottom steering wheel.
