The Next-Gen 2023 Genesis G90 Flagship Luxo Barge Caught Testing In The S-Class’ Backyard

It makes sense that the Genesis G90 would be testing in Germany since the luxury vehicles it aspires to beat are from there. The latest spy shots, though, make it look a bit like England’s Bentley Flying Spur.

Whether it will be able to keep up with those cars remains to be seen. Its fancy wheels, big grille, and old school proportions, though, at least give it the carriage of something fancy.

Still heavily camouflaged, Genesis is leaving us with a lot of questions, but its headlights do appear to be split in much the same way as the updated G70, as you might expect. Details like the taillights are still a little too obscure see, though.

Although these shots offer us no insight into what the interior will look like, a recent video from a parking garage in Korea suggests that it will be fancy. Big, cushy leather seats with contrasting piping and stitching can be seen along with a big center armrest and a plurality of exquisite buttons.

With no screens to be seen in the back seats, though, and camouflaging over the front ones, it’s hard to know what the infotainment situation will be for the updated G90. The current model, however, has been accused of being a step behind its luxury competitors in terms of tech, so that may be a concern.

Speaking of the current model, it can be powered (in the U.S.) by a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 making 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. Alternatively, you can go for the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 making 420 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. What will go under the new G90’s hood remains a mystery, but an EV option is certainly in the cards.

Genesis is expected to unveil the G90 for its domestic market before the year is out. It may take some time before it makes it to the U.S. market, unfortunately.
