The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is a phenomenal SUV but surely it cannot accelerate quicker than the insane Subaru WRX STI that was built for Travis Pastrana for Gymkhana 11. Or can it?
As standard, the 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 powering the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk pumps out 707 hp and 645 lb-ft (875 Nm) of torque and thanks to its all-wheel drive system, it accelerates harder than the likes of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Charger Hellcat. Evidently, the owner of this particular Trackhawk wasn’t satisfied with the stock SUV and had it comprehensively modified.

To boost the performance, the SUV is now sporting a fully-built motor with new pistons and rods and a forged crankshaft. It also features ported heads, custom cams, and a new bearing plate on the stock supercharger to allow for more airflow. It can run down the quarter-mile in 9.4 seconds and is officially the quickest Trackhawk on the planet.
As we’ve mentioned in previous videos from Hoonigan, Pastrana’s Subaru WRX STI Gymkhana car has a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 862 hp. Like the Trackhawk, it too is all-wheel drive and capable of launching off the line extremely well.
In the first race, the Trackhawk driver gets the jump off the line and the two remain neck-and-neck down the drag strip, ultimately finishing right next to each other. In the second, the tables turned and it was the Subaru that got the better launch, ultimately finishing ahead of the Jeep. Two other races are held and both are extremely close.
