2023 BMW 7-Series Shows iX-inspired Interior With Curved Displays For The First Time

As BMW is getting ready to either shock or inspire us with the upcoming 7-Series, our spies managed to get a glimpse of its interior for the first time.

While the dashboard is still covered, major highlights like the curved dual displays make their first appearance in the 2022/2023 BMW 7-Series. The outline of the dash itself leads us to believe that BMW was heavily inspired by the interior design of models like the all-electric iX, while the raised center console appears to no longer feature a traditional shift selector.

If our suspicions come true, then expect to see a clean-looking dashboard with minimal lines hosting the dual-display setup on top of it and a set of slim air vents mounted on the center.

Other details that caught our eye include a new steering wheel which appears to feature touch-sensitive buttons and some sort of sensors on its rim, probably for BMW’s hands-free driver-assistance system that’s also expected to be featured in the next 7-Series.

The latest reports suggest that BMW will preview both its latest design language and the new 7-Series this September with a concept. Despite the heavy camouflage, test cars have not been successful at hiding their significantly changed look, featuring a shorter bonnet, headlights looking to be mounted lower than before and the grille becoming even larger.

The new BMW 7-Series is also expected to be the carmaker’s first model to use the “Neue Klasse” platform, a highly flexible architecture that can accommodate petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid, fuel cell, and pure electric powertrains.

BMW is also working on a pure electric i7 version, which could pack as much as 641 HP and offer a driving range of up to 435 miles (700 km).
