Cast your minds back to 2008 and one of the most exciting and hardcore vehicles on sale took the form of the Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series. Capped at just 500 units worldwide, it exemplified what the Black Series brand is all about and a used example has appeared for sale in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Listed up for auction through Bring A Trailer, this CLK63 AMG Black Series was registered in California with its first owner until 2013 when it was repurchased by Mercedes-Benz under the lemon law buyback program because of a power-steering system fault. The car was repaired and remained in California until March 2021 when it was acquired by the selling dealer.

Like most other CLK63 AMG Black Series models, this one is painted in Bright Silver Metallic and sits on 19-inch multi-spoke black AMG wheels wrapped with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires measuring 265/30 front and 285/30 at the rear. The car also includes cross-drilled and ventilated brake discs, massive AMG brake calipers, adjustable coilovers, and front and rear strut tower braces.

Powering the Black Series is a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine that delivered 500 hp and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) when new. This power is sent exclusively through the rear wheels courtesy of a seven-speed SpeedShift automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The listing notes that the engine oil, air filter, and brake fluid were changed in May.

Despite being more than a decade old, the car has less than 12,000 miles (19,312 km) on the clock.
