A few days ago, Koenigsegg presented a pre-production prototype of the Jesko, signaling the imminent start of production two and a half years after its original debut. The company’s founder and CEO, Christian von Koenigsegg, appeared in an official video giving us a detailed presentation of the car which is very close to the final production model.

Starting with the exterior, Christian talked about the Tang Orange Pearl paint which brings back memories from the CCR. He also talked about the extreme aero package of the Jesko in “Attack” configuration, including the huge carbon-fiber splitter and the active top-mounted rear wing which is an evolution of the One:1. The downforce is really high but the setup of the complex triplex suspension helps with balancing the car. Christian also noted that the front air dam makes it impossible for the Jesko’s removable roof to be stored in the front bonnet like in other Koenigsegg models.

Inside, the founder of Koenigsegg showed us the cool digital instrument cluster that is mounted on the steering wheel, the touch areas with haptic feedback, the new key, and the latest infotainment that receives over-the-air updates. Thanks to the stretched carbon-fiber monocoque, the Jesko is roomier inside and the larger windows provide better visibility.

Finally, Christian went out for a drive on his most capable hypercar yet, and then took it to Koenigsegg’s proving grounds for some ultra-fast acceleration runs. Interior videos usually don’t do justice on speed and acceleration but in this one, the Jesko appears to be unbelievably fast. The mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 1,578 hp (1,177 kW / 1,600 PS) and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque is screaming, while the revolutionary Light Speed Transmission (LST) changes gears at the blink of an eye.

A total of 125 units of the Jesko and Jesko Absolut will be produced in Ängelholm, Sweden, with the first customer deliveries scheduled for spring 2022.
