Few names are likely to inspire as much respect in the world of American automotive customization as George Barris. He designed the original Batmobile, for goodness sake, and now’s your opportunity to own a car he designed.

You’ll have to act fast, though because the auction for this 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 ends today at 2:42 PM EST. Built for the first year of the modern Challenger’s return to showrooms, the Red Demon was the first Challenger to feature vertically-opening doors.

It’s also got 20-inch wheels at the front and 22-inch wheels at the back to help handle the 6.1-liter V8’s power, all of which is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission. Helping its stance is an Air Ride Technologies adjustable air suspension.

The Red Demon also features 1.5-inch fender flares, 2.5-inch quarter flares, and custom rockers, all of which were fabricated out of metal for this build. On the hood, meanwhile, its scoop is made out of carbon fiber as is the rear wing, which was pretty advanced stuff for 2008.

Tying it all together is the red, black, and yellow color scheme. Although the body matches the red-tinted windows, the paint was specially mixed to change the hue with the light. The color palette continues inside with custom leather upholstering.

Although it’s in pretty great condition, there are one or two minor flaws. The finish on the passenger side grille emblem is peeling, there are some scratches here and there, and the tires are from 2008. The Carfax history reports a mileage inconsistency from 2014. Now though, the mileage is listed at just 4,100 miles (6,598 km).

All of which makes the current high bid of $33,500 seem pretty reasonable. You can check out the car on Cars & Bids.
