After being teased last week, the 2022 Nissan Note Aura Nismo has been officially unveiled before sales of it kick off in Japan this year.

Immediately making the Note Aura Nismo stand out from the regular model is a design that takes inspiration from Nissan’s Formula E race car. As such, the front end features an identifiable Nismo splitter finished in red. The car has also been equipped with 17-inch aluminum wheels, red mirror caps, red side skirts, and an aggressive rear fascia that includes a distinctive bumper and diffuser package.

Alterations continue into the cabin and include bucket seats with seat covers made from a combination of fabric and synthetic leather. The seats also have an embroidered Nismo logo and red/grey contrast stitching.

Continuing to power the Note Aura Nismo is the same e-Power system as the regular model, combining a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine acting as a generator and a pair of electric motors to drive the wheels. It produces 134 hp and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque. The Nismo variant comes equipped with three drive mode settings, including a Nismo mode that provides better response and improved acceleration while Normal Mode and Eco Mode have been specially tuned for this model and provide more comfortable driving.

Nissan says that the Note Aura Nismo’s unique exterior looks also add downforce, resulting in improved stability at high speeds. The car also features a unique suspension setup to provide better handling.

The Japanese automaker hasn’t announced any other details regarding the Note Aura Nismo, including how much it will cost.
