In The Battle For Butchest Toyota Supra Mk5, Wald Wins By A Nose

With its blend of F1 racer and classic A80 Supra cues, the front end styling of the stock A90 Toyota Supra already has the potential to swivel heads.

But it’s got nothing on the latest creation from Japanese tuning house Wald International, which is quite possibly the angriest looking car we’ve ever seen. We’re not kidding, just look at the shouty face visible in the new beaky bumper. We can almost hear it yelling: ‘Who are you calling a BMW?’

Described as ‘Formula 1 look’ on Wald’s website, the new nose that comes with the Sport Line Wide kit continues the lines of the hood bulge, just like on the standard car, but gives those lines far more prominence. And the central air intake beneath the new snout shrinks, giving it the look of an angry mouth.

Wald retains the original headlights but set into the new bumper, even they manage to look more menacing. The new bumper section is matched by a new wider hood and front fenders that flow into extended side skirts.

The rear of Wald’s Supra is every bit as bold. A set of over-fenders widen the track by 45 mm (1.77-inch) each side and a new more aggressive diffuser makes space for four stacked tailpipes. And in case by some miracle other drivers fail to notice all those mods, there’s a giant two-tier rear wing.

Sensibly, Wald realizes that such a radical transformation might not suit every taste (or wallet), so it also offers a simpler Sport Line package incorporating a front and rear spoiler, but without the crazy honk, wide fenders and high-rise rear wing.
