Infiniti has announced that most of its 2020 model year vehicles, and all newer models, can upgrade to wireless Apple CarPlay.

The free upgrade is available for the 2020 and 2021 Q50, Q60, QX50, and QX80 and can be completed at Infiniti dealerships across the United States.

The company’s first model to launch with wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility was the 2022 QX55 which has since been followed by the 2022 QX80. The new 2022 Q50 and Q60 will also hit the market with wireless Apple CarPlay right out of the box, as will the QX60 SUV.

“Customer satisfaction has always been one of the highest priorities at Infiniti, and we are pleased to bring wireless Apple CarPlay to owners of the majority of our 2020 and 2021 vehicles,” group vice president of Infiniti Americas, Jeff Pope said in a statement. “More than 80 percent of luxury vehicle owners use Apple products, and now these Infiniti owners can go wireless while using CarPlay in their vehicle.”

The complimentary upgrade to wireless Apple CarPlay is available from now until March 31, 2022.

Infiniti only confirmed in late September that the Q50 and Q60 would be updated for the 2022 model year and come with wireless Apple CarPlay as standard equipment. Few other changes have been made to these models, meaning Infiniti’s familiar twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 remains in place. This engine produces 300 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque in Pure and Luxe trim levels in the Q60, or Luxe and Sensory variants in the Q50. Red Sport 400 models continue to produce 400 hp and 350 l-ft (474 Nm) of torque.
