2022 Hyundai Creta Shows A Tucson Face In Official Sketches

The second-generation Hyundai Creta was unveiled in 2019 but the Korean company is already preparing a facelift. Hyundai Motors Indonesia posted three official sketches of the 2022 Creta on Twitter, showing an updated design.

While the overall silhouette of the B-SUV remains unchanged, the front end has been completely redesigned adopting a look similar to the larger Tucson SUV and the Santa Cruz pickup truck. The parametric grille with LED headlights is joined by larger intakes on the front bumper, replacing the old Kona-inspired setup.

Designers tend to use oversized wheels and dramatic lighting in their sketches but the profile is, unsurprisingly, a carry-over from the current Creta, including the heavily sculpted fenders.

At the back, changes are more limited but the SUV looks quite modern thanks to the updated dual LED taillights. Inside, the Creta will benefit from a digital instrument cluster and a larger infotainment touchscreen on the center console. Equipment will also include more of Hyundai’s ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems), at least in higher trim levels.

Hyundai didn’t reveal information about the engines but the facelift could use newer versions of the existing powertrains together with mild updates on the chassis and a revised suspension setup.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta facelift is expected to be introduced next month. The current model is sold in China, India, Russia, Brazil, and Mexico, but the facelift will debut in Indonesia with a local assembly at a new factory in Cikarang.
