2022 Renault Kadjar Shows Off Massive Infotainment System In Latest Spy Photos

Spy photographers have snapped the redesigned Renault Kadjar on multiple occasions, but now we’re getting a glimpse inside the cabin.

Looking thoroughly modern, the crossover features a freestanding digital instrument cluster and a massive infotainment system with a portrait orientation. The latter is angled towards the driver and has a ‘chin’ that consists of climate controls.

Additional details are hard to make out, but the Kadjar has been equipped with a new steering wheel that appears to feature touch controls. Elsewhere, we can see slender air vents and a new dashboard with a pronounced horizontal element. The photos also give us a glimpse of the redesigned center console, which sports metallic trim and a six-speed manual transmission.

On the outside, there isn’t much to see as the prototype is still heavily camouflaged. That being said, the model will adopt a more expressive front fascia with a wider grille and a more prominent lower air intake. They’re flanked by vertical air curtains and LED headlights.

Moving further back, the crossover adopts streamlined bodywork and a more traditional beltline. We can also see an evolutionary rear end with new lighting units and reflectors.

Renault has been tight-lipped about the model, but it will ride on the CMF-C platform that underpins the Nissan Qashqai. As a result, engine options could be shared between the models. If this occurs, the Kadjar could be offered with a turbocharged 1.3-liter engine that has outputs of 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS) and 156 hp (116 kW / 158 PS). The Qashqai is also offered with an e‑POWER system that develops 188 hp (140 kW / 190 PS).

Of course, we’ll likely get a better idea of what to expect closer to the model’s debut next year.
