A stunning array of cars are currently being displayed by Ford at the SEMA Show and these include a unique 1969 Mustang owned by country music star Keith Urban.

The singer has owned the car since 2008 when it was gifted to him by Nicole Kidman to celebrate their second wedding anniversary. It had been restored previously but Urban wasn’t happy with the results and shortly after meeting Jay Leno, he managed to pull a full strings at Ford and had the automaker itself restore the car.

The 1969 Ford Mustang was originally painted black but Urban wanted something unique so he Googled the darkest shade of blue he could find and settled on a shade inspired by the Mariana Trench, the deepest oceanic trench on Earth. The paint is extremely dark when not in direct light but under the lights at SEMA, its purple and blue tones were on full display.

Various other modifications have been done to the car. It sits on Forgeline wheels inspired by those of the new Mustang Mach 1 and wrapped in Michelin tires and also features adjustable Bilstein dampers at all four corners. In addition, it has six-piston Wilwood brake calipers up front, four-piston calipers at the rear, and new front and rear subframes.

Ford also overhauled the interior of the restomod, equipping it with amenities such as unique leather seats, sound deadening, and new air conditioning and heater units.

Found beneath the hood is a 5.0-liter V8 topped with a Roush supercharger and long-tube headers pumping out 700 hp. Coupled to this engine is a 10-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
