Hyundai Motor America will host its first-ever N Performance Academy this weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on December 18-19.

The academy seeks to offer enthusiasts the opportunity to test the performance of the Hyundai Veloster N on the legendary circuit and has been organized by Bryan Herta Autosport. The automaker also recently partnered with the racing team to develop the Elantra N Line TCA race car that debuted in October. Designed to compete in the Touring Car America Championship, it competed for the first time that month at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The team says that the N Performance Academy has been created with a view to helping enthusiasts develop their comfort and confidence behind the wheel and more than 200 guests have signed up for the two-day event.

The event includes laps of the 2.4-mile (3.8 km), 12-corner Road Atlanta track, including the famous “Esses,” a complex of fast, downhill corners. Drivers will also have access to a tighter, more technical autocross course to help develop their skills.

Participants will be able to compare their driving lines with professional Hyundai race drivers Mason Filippi and Harry Gottsacker. They will also offer rides and driving tips to help those in attendance learn as much as possible.

The only remaining Veloster in the American lineup for 2022, the N model is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 275 hp (279 PS/205 kW) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque. Offered with either an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission or a six-speed manual, the little hot hatch has impressed critics.
