Volkswagen introduced the Multivan T7 six months ago but major tuners have yet to announce any upgrades for the model. Delta 4×4 seems to be the first one to try, by unveiling a gallery of CGIs that showcases a number of off-road focused modifications similar to the ones already offered for the outgoing Multivan T6.
In typical Delta 4×4 fashion, the MQB-based Multivan T7 got a set of beadlock rims shod in A/T tires from Loder, measuring 255/55R18. Thanks to the addition of new Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs, the ground clearance has been increased by 40 mm (1.6 inches) making it easier to drive on harsh terrain.

Besides the tires and the beefed-up suspension, the T7 gets an adventurous look thanks to the plastic wheel arch extensions, the protective stainless steel bull bar with integrated PIAA lights, the covered rear windows, and the metal roof rack housing a pair of LED bars and additional equipment.
The tuner doesn’t mention any upgrades on the powertrain, despite hinting at a new exhaust system for a richer sound. Judging from the eHybrid emblem on the tailgate, the T7 off-roader was envisioned with the plug-in hybrid powertrain which consists of a 1.4-liter TSI and an electric motor producing a combined 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS). While the PHEV is in line with the current trend of electrification, we would find VW’s 2.0 TDI a more sensible choice for off-road adventures, especially if it was combined with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and the 4Motion system.

However, Delta 4×4 suggests that If the tuning package attracts enough attention, it might turn to a real-world build since all measurements and sizes are legit, with market availability in the second half of 2022.
