Body-On-Frame 2023 Kia Mohave Gets A Light Refreshening In South Korea

Kia has launched the updated 2023 Mohave in South Korea.

Looking instantly recognizable, the body-on-frame SUV has been given a light makeover that sees it adopt the brand’s new logo. The model also gains a revised Gravity variant that features gloss black exterior accents as well as black wood trim.

Speaking of the interior, the 2023 Mohave has an updated steering wheel as well as newly available Terracotta Brown and Taupe Gray upholstery. The Korean translation is a bit rough, but it also seems like the model has been outfitted with dual-layer glass and a newly standard multi-collision automatic braking system.

The upgrades don’t end there as the SUV adopts new chassis mounts and improved shock absorbers. Kia says these changes significantly improve ride comfort when driving on rough roads.

Power is provided by a 3.0-liter diesel engine that has been equipped with an “emission reduction device” to satisfy strengthened requirements that went into effect in South Korea this year. Thankfully, this didn’t have an impact on performance as the engine, which is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard four-wheel drive system, is rated at 253 hp (189 kW / 257 PS) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque.

The 2023 Kia Mohave is currently on sale and its pricing starts at ₩49.58 million ($41,397) and climbs to ₩58.71 million ($49,020) for the range-topping Mohave Gravity. While the model won’t be coming to the United States, it’s not far removed from the Borrego which was dropped in America over a decade ago.
