ElectraMeccanica has used CES to introduce an “all-new, conceptual refresh” of its SOLO EV.
The changes are apparently limited to the cabin, where designers installed a new dashboard and high-tech controls.
The company didn’t go into many specifics, but the changes are immediately apparent as the digital instrument cluster is now flanked by four new displays. The outer two act as digital side mirrors, while the inner displays show vehicle information and infotainment settings.

Besides the new screens, the concept features revised switchgear and more modern air vents. The changes look good, although it might be a bit awkward using touchscreens located in front of the steering wheel. That remains to be seen, but the company said the updates were made to improve and optimize the overall driver experience.
While the car is a concept, it helps to paint a picture of what an updated SOLO could look like. In effect, the next-generation model could combine the concept’s interior with the exterior styling changes featured on the SOLO O2 concept.
The current SOLO starts at $18,500 and features a 17.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides a range of up to 100 miles (161 km) on a single charge. The battery powers a 56 hp (42 kW / 57 PS) electric motor and this enables the three-wheeler to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in a little under 12 seconds.
