U Spy The 2023 Range Rover Sport Looking Very Familiar

A few months after the full-size 2022 Range Rover was unveiled, new spy shots have emerged of the updated Range Rover Sport.

These images were snapped by CarScoops reader Klaus Menzel at Blenheim Palace in the UK and show the 2023 Range Rover Sport adorned in camouflage that hides many of its key design details.

Like the standard Range Rover, the new Range Rover Sport will be based around Land Rover’s MLA-Flex architecture that can accommodate ICE, PHEV, and EV powertrains. It should be just as capable off-road as its predecessor while being even more comfortable on the road and will be sold in a number of different guises, including a flagship SVR variant. This flagship model will probably rock a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 pumping out around 600 hp, if not a little more.

Other powertrains expected to be available with the 2023 Range Rover Sport should include the automaker’s mild-hybrid turbocharged 3.0-liter Ingenium inline-six that is good for 395 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque in the entry-level Range Rover. Certain markets will also be offered the new Range Rover Sport with diesel engines.

While the camouflage adorning the exterior of this prototype hides many of the key design details, we can see the design isn’t significantly different than the outgoing model. The headlights appear largely unchanged, as does the entire front fascia. It’s difficult to determine what changes have been made to the rear but we wouldn’t be surprised to see similar LED taillights to the 2022 Range Rover.
