Mazda has already confirmed the debut of the CX-60 PHEV on March 8 showing us hints of the exterior after a leak, but today the company is back with a second teaser revealing parts of the interior.
The CX-60 will incorporate the latest evolution of Mazda’s Kodo design philosophy combined with the Japanese concept of Ma which is “the calm and dignified beauty of empty space” and the ideas of Kaichô described as “the harmony that comes from mixing different materials and textures”.

In that context, the interior of the CX-60 is minimalistic, with interesting details on the fabric upholstery communicating the Japanese craftsmanship. High-quality materials including maple wood, Nappa leather, Japanese textiles on woven fabrics, and chrome details used for a premium look that is easily distinguished from rivals. Mazda also talked about “Musubu”, a technique of binding textiles that was the inspiration for the stitching around the instrument panel.
Mazda has confirmed that the CX-60 will be its first PHEV with a combined output of over 300 hp (221 kW / 304 PS). The SUV is also expected to be offered with the new family of straight-six Skyactiv-X (petrol) and Skyactive-D (diesel) engines with 48V mild-hybrid systems.
The Mazda CX-60 is one of the four new SUVs that are set to debut in 2022 and 2023 as part of the “Large Product Group”. The CX-60 five-seater and CX-80 seven-seater will be sold in Europe and Japan, while the wider CX-70 and CX-90 will be available in North America.
