Rolls-Royce’s Spectre EV Might Look Something Like This

The Rolls-Royce Spectre isn’t due to launch until the fourth quarter of 2023 and the automaker has already started testing lightly-disguised prototypes and unveiled a new Spirit of Ecstasy for the EV. We now have a set of detailed renderings that show what the Spectre may look like.

Spy images of the Spectre have revealed that it will have a similar overall shape and profile to the two-door Wraith and while it will be instantly familiar as a Rolls-Royce, it is expected to sport a number of unique features.

These renderings come courtesy of Kolesa and showcase the Spectre with a much smaller front grille than pre-existing Rolls-Royce models. Of course, the grille sports a chrome finish and instantly catches the eye. Also standing out at the front of the Spectre are the split headlights.

Split headlights like these have proved particularly popular through the auto industry in recent years, with prominent examples including the KL-generation Jeep Cherokee and various Hyundai and Genesis models. Heck, even a handful of forthcoming BMW models will get split headlights. In these renderings, the Spectre has been imagined with a thin LED daytime running light sitting above the main headlamp units, making for a very striking look.

The rear end of the Spectre is also shaping up to be quite a head-turner. It is promising to be even sleeker than the rear of the Wraith and will feature a flowing roofline and decklid, combined with a subtle lip spoiler.

Beyond its design, we know that the Rolls-Royce Spectre will be underpinned by the same Architecture of Luxury platform as the Phantom but it is expected to borrow its powertrain from the BMW i7. A 120 kWh battery pack is the most likely candidate to power the EV while a handful of different electric motor configurations are to be expected.
