We know that the Lamborghini Aventador’s successor will sport a naturally aspirated V12 but it will also be a plug-in hybrid and exhaust regulations may make it quite muted compared to the Lamborghini V12s that we have come to know and love.
Eager to remind us all of just how great the Aventador is, the folks over at AutoTopNL recently had the opportunity to test one out along the Autobahn and it’s hard not to feel somewhat enamored by the supercar’s 6.5-liter V12.

The Aventador SVJ represents the absolute pinnacle of the Aventador family, even though the LP780-4 Ultimae is newer and has 10 extra horses. Making the car tested in this clip all the more special is the fact that it is the Roadster, meaning the driver is able to enjoy the sound even more.
In SVJ guise, the V12 pumps out 759 hp at a screaming 8,500 rpm and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque at 6,750 rpm. The use of a titanium exhaust adds to the already incredible auditory experience provided by this engine.
Of course, it’s not just the car’s engine that gives it so much theater. Coupled to the V12 is Lamborghini’s independent-shifting rod (ISR) seven-speed transmission that is far less refined than a modern-day dual-clutch but results in truly brutal gear changes when the car is in Corsa model, making it feel like you’ve been hit in the chest with every single gear shift.
