Nissan Sadly Sent These Two Old Concept Cars To The Junkyard To Be Crushed And Destroyed

It sounds counterintuitive but junkyards are full of valuable stuff and one person just found a pair of Nissan Concept vehicles from the early to mid 2000s. Nissan dropped them off there themselves and from what we’re hearing, it sounds like they’re headed to the crusher (if they haven’t made it there already as some social media users are claiming).

Spotted by Facebook user Joshua Dayton Cooper at a Nashville, Tennessee, junkyard, and shared on a number of social media threads these concepts are the 2007 Nissan Bevel concept and the Quest Concept from 2002. The pair are on very different ends of the practicality scale for sure.

Take one glance at the Quest and you’ll note that it looks very similar to the production model. Of course, once you glance inside, that changes a bit. The seats look about as comfortable as a church pew. It’s in quite a state of disrepair too; the center console has been removed and it looks like there’s some broken plastic on the floorboard.

The Bevel is in better shape from what we can see in the photos. The exterior looks great aside from the tires being ruined. Of course, tires with that kind of futuristic (and silly) tread would need to be changed out if the vehicle was ever to be used anyway. The inside looks so good that it seems like it would be worthy of saving.

They won’t avoid the crusher, sadly

Unfortunately, though, there’s just no hope for these cars even though the Nissan Heritage Collection is in the same city, Nashville. That’s because these actually came out of that collection to go to the junkyard. Nissan sent them to the crusher because they’re at the end of a “long-term disposal plan” according to a Nissan spokesperson who made the comment to The Drive.

The Nissan Heritage Collection is housed underneath the amazing Lane Motor Museum and they let us in on some more details. “They offered them to us first, but we had no space for them… these lived in our basement for many years,” Rex Bennett, who is one of the directors at Lane, told CarScoops.

While the Lane Motor Museum is home to some of the strangest and coolest cars in history, these concepts lack a key component for inclusion. Bennet confirmed what that issue was: “That (is) the problem. They can’t really be driven,” which is the opposite of almost every one of the 550+ cars sitting at Lane right now. Both concepts can be spotted in the video below from the time when they were both still in the collection years ago.
