Automotive enthusiasts are naturally quite passionate about the cars that they love. We wondered though, which group of model or brand enthusiasts might be the most passionate. With thousands of different models and so many different brands, the possibilities might seem endless but we think we’ve narrowed down the list considerably.

Classic cars have a huge following and for evidence of that growing love, we need to look no further than the market growth and increased value seen over the last two years. Still, as time soldiers on, many of the oldest cars slowly but surely get left by the wayside.

We think that there’s good reason to look at lots of newer brands and badges though. As the transition to electrified vehicles continues, it’s hard to ignore some of the fastest vehicles in the world like the Rimac Nevera or the Tesla Model S Plaid.

The former has a following in much the same way that any other $3 million hypercar might. The latter though, is special. Tesla fans around the world are derided for what others view as unflinching support of Elon Musk despite his obvious propensity for announcing production dates long before he’s finalized them. And yet, it’s hard to deny that Tesla has many die-hard fans.

Still, there’s something to be said of the die-hard combustion engine crowd too. The Dodge Hellcat twins are slowly edging towards their retirement and they’ve been around for longer than most remember. That hasn’t slowed sales though – quite the opposite, in fact.

Perhaps we’re thinking about this all wrong though. SUVs are clearly the most popular bodystyle these days so maybe it’s hardcore Toyota Land Cruiser fans, or Land Rover Defender fans that are the most dug in for their off-roader of choice.

The Defender brings us into the luxury realm and as a former and current BMW owner, I can assure you that some fans in the fold will aggressively stand behind the badge even as their rod bearings are failing or their VANOS solenoid is malfunctioning.

So what do you think? Which brand or even specific model has the strongest fan base? Is it one of these or a totally different one we failed to mention? Let us know in the comments below!
