Time’s Top 100 Most Influential List Features Ford And Rivian, But Not Tesla

Time Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential Companies list has left fans of Tesla confused, with the American EV manufacturer failing to make the cut. Adding insult to injury is the presence of legacy carmaker Ford, Chinese battery and automaker BYD, and EV startup Rivian. Why did Tesla miss out? It might be down to the fact that the Cybertruck is yet to hit the road, while both Ford and Rivian have forged ahead with their EV pickup offerings.

New Entry-Level 2023 Mercedes-AMG SL43 Gets A Four-Cylinder With An Electric Turbo

Mercedes is reintroducing a four-cylinder SL for the first time since 1963. Dubbed the SL43, the entry-level convertible will get a new variant of AMG’s 2.0 four-cylinder M139 engine. It uses an F1-inspired electric turbocharger that is operated through a 48-volt electrical system. The system feeds a belt-driven starter-generator, operating as a mild hybrid, while also providing a temporary 13 hp boost in power. The SL43 outputs 375-hp (280 kW / 381 PS) at 6,750 rpm and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of peak torque between 3,250 and 5,000 rpm.

Here’s The Entire Manifest Of Cars Aboard Sunken Felicity Ace Cargo Ship

The sinking of the Felicity Ace hit the headlines not just in shipping circles but made waves in the automotive industry too because of its precious cargo. We knew that most of the vehicles aboard the ship were from the VW Group, but now we have a detailed breakdown of how many cars from each brand were aboard. Audi was the biggest loser with 1,944, while Porsche was a close second, with 1,117 of their vehicles now on the ocean floor. VW, Bentley, and Lamborghini also lost significant numbers, while some individual cars were also sunk. The list includes a 1996 Honda Prelude SiR, a 1977 Land Rover Santana, a BMW 750i, and a 2015 Ford Mustang.

2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Gets A New Performance Feature But It’s Not The One We Wanted

When it was revealed that the Eclipse nameplate would be associated with a crossover SUV and not the original coupe/convertible of the 90s and 00s, many were upset. But perhaps the introduction of WRC- and Dakar-inspired “Super All-Wheel Control” as standard across the Eclipse Cross range will make up for matters. Instead of simply splitting torque from front to rear based on conditions, it integrates the ABS system, Active Stability Control, and Mitsubishi’s Active Yaw Control to improve handling and grip. That said, under the hood remains a 1.5-liter engine with just 152 horsepower (111 kW) and 182 lb-ft of torque (246 nm) — hardly sports car figures.

Mitsubishi Brings Back 2023 Colt Subcompact From The Dead As A Rebodied Renault Clio

The first teaser for Mitsubishi’s all-new Colt arrived yesterday, with the car clearly being a rebadged Renault Clio. The new Mitsubishi Colt will be based on the Clio’s CMF-B platform, which also underpins the Nissan Micra and Dacia Sandero. It’ll be the first time the Colt name appears on a Mitsubishi since it was killed off in 2013.
