Bentley published a cryptic teaser of a new model set to be introduced on May 10 as its new flagship. While there is no official information about this new model, it is rumored that this could be the “long-awaited” long-wheelbase version of the Bentayga.

The teaser is showing the inside of a door, with purple-colored ambient lighting and illuminated rhombus-shaped patterns on the upholstery. However, the design of the door cards and the positioning of the door handle are different from all current Bentley models, including the Bentayga, confusing us even more about this new addition to the range.

According to the official announcement “The company’s designers, engineers and craftspeople have gone to new lengths to combine luxury, technology and performance in a way that only Bentley can deliver. With an extra dimension of on-board wellness, the new model will sit in sumptuous comfort at the pinnacle of its range and deliver a breadth of capabilities beyond anything previously offered.”

In terms of powertrain, we know for certain that this will be an ICE-powered model since Bentley’s five-EV rollout won’t start before 2025. Bentley has also confirmed a new Mulliner-branded and W12-powered Coupé based on the Continental GT, but this was set to be unveiled in 2023.

The last Bentley flagship was the Mulsanne, which was discontinued in 2020. Soon after its demise, Bentley said that the Flying Spur would serve as an indirect replacement, covering the needs of Mulsanne customers. However, in 2020, Bentley CEO, Adrian Hallmark, hinted at a new flagship SUV that could take the Mulsanne’s place as Bentley’s flagship.

In any case, we will learn more about the new Bentley next Tuesday, at 12:30 BST. There is also a high chance Bentley will continue the teasing campaign, giving us more hints about the mysterious model.
