Singer Justin Bieber has been banned from buying Ferraris according to almost certainly bogus stories circulating online. The 28-year old Canadian musician is one of the most popular artists on Spotify, but if Ferrari dealers spot him attempting to order a new 296 GTB they’ve been ordered to turn down his efforts to hand over a huge amount of money and give the brand massive exposure on his social media channels.

Actually we have no idea if that’s true because the stories that have appeared online have no quotes from dealers, Ferrari officials or anyone connected to Bieber, and feel about as lightweight as an Assetto Fiorano pack door panel. You might even have heard the very same story a few year ago. Ferrari has.

The justification for the Bieb’s excommunication according to stories on Sky Sport Italy and La Republica and others is that the singer effectively disrespected the Ferrari brand by not looking after his 458. Back in 2016, Bieber bought a Ferrari 458 Italia and had the artisans at West Coast Customs bolt on a wide-arch Liberty Walk body kit. Later that year the star managed to lose track of the car after parking it at the Montage Hotel in Beverley Hills, only discovering its whereabouts three weeks later thanks to the legwork and detective skills of an assistant.

The neglected 2011 Ferrari, which features 20-in three-piece Forgiato Dieci-ECL wheels, a custom 2,000 Watt hifi and whose Carfax report reveals a rear-end accident in its past, was then offered at a Barrett-Jackson auction in 2017 where it sold for $434,500.

None of that sounds like grounds for blacklisting any owner, and since it doesn’t look like Bieb is exactly a serial Ferrari buyer, would the company even need to bother? And it’s not like he couldn’t get someone else to buy one on his behalf if Ferrari did issue a strike. The whole thing is pure garbage, but that hasn’t stopped the “news story” going global.

We’ve reached out to Ferrari for comment but we hear they’re busy planning a hit on 40 celebrity stars who haven’t washed and waxed their Romas and 812s in the past week.
