The all-electric Fisker Ocean has been a long time coming and production is scheduled to start in November. Before that happens, however, the car manufacturer is continuing to test and put the SUV through its paces.

Fisker started building prototypes of the Ocean in March and is now testing it both at dedicated facilities and on the road. In this particular clip, Henrik Fisker can be seen conducting some high-speed testing in the SUV while also exploring its handling dynamics, straight-line acceleration, and its ability to cope with different road and weather conditions. The SUV is also briefly shown being tested along a handful of gravel roads.

In the United States, the Fisker Ocean will be sold in various guises. The lower-end Sport model has a lithium-ion phosphate battery supplied by CATL and can travel up to 250 miles (402 km) on a charge while pushing out 275 hp, allowing the SUV to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.9 seconds. Higher-end variants have nickel manganese cobalt battery cells, giving the Ocean Ultra 340 miles of range while its two electric motors produce 540 hp.

Topping out the Ocean range are the Extreme and One, both rated at 550 hp and capable of driving 350 miles (562 km) per charge.

It is not just impressive performance and range that the Fisker Ocean has going for it but also price. The entry-level model will start at a very reasonable $37,499 before federal and state tax credits, meaning U.S. buyers will be able to get it for less than $30,000. Prices jump to $49,999 for the Ocean Ultra and top out at $68,999 for both the Extreme and One.

Production will start at Magna’s facility in Graz, Austria on November 17 this year.
