The new all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck is a smash hit like few others. It’s in such short supply that it seems all but impossible to find one available from a dealer at MSRP. Finally though, one has popped up on a public auction website that anyone can bid on and it only has 315 miles (507 km) on the odometer.

Available over on Cars & Bids, this particular example is the F-150 Lariat trim with 4WD, an extended range battery, and Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 system. That combination of factors explains why bidding is sitting at $100,500 as of this writing one day before the auction runs out.

Keep in mind that Ford gives the base Lariat trim with a starting MSRP of just $69,269 and the window sticker on this truck indicates a total MSRP of $79,269. In fact, it’s more expensive than the Platinum trim which has a $92,669 MSRP. Instead of a greedy dealer, though, it’s an individual that’s auctioning off this truck.

The original owner is a military veteran and purple heart recipient who clarified the situation in the comments section: “I’m definitely not a reseller, I had my reservation in five minutes after they opened up the reservation system. Not sure any resellers would be showing off their license plates or even have a Purple Heart plate. Just really bad timing for it to come in. I was in the hospital for a week and got out two days before this was delivered. Love the truck, just too much for my family right now.”

He added that he “Was not intending to sell this. Disabilities flared up and I can’t work for a few months at least. Just bad timing.” Another Lightning went for $110,400 in a similar auction recently. If you’re in the market for the first electric truck from a mainstream brand and haven’t already placed an order, or simply can’t wait, it might be worth checking out.
