Ferrari and Porsche might be rivals, but this Carrera GT does have a paint job straight out of Maranello’s catalogue.

This Carrera GT left the factory painted in a simple shade of black. However, when its owner took delivery of a Ferrari LaFerrari finished in Rosso Fuoco, they decided to have the Porsche’s exterior stripped back and finished in the same shade of red.

The duPont Registry listing for the car says that the respray was done by Karosserie, a specialist in concours-winning vehicles, and cost six figures. In addition to giving the Carrera GT a new shade of paint, Karosseries replaced all bolts, gaskets, and any other items that weren’t in factory new condition.

Painting a car as iconic as the Carrera GT in a color from Ferrari may sound like an odd choice. However, we think the resulting finish looks absolutely spectacular and perfectly complements the sexy design of the Porsche. It definitely beats a black paint finish and gives the car a unique appeal. Will the new paint lead to an increase in the car’s resale value? It’s hard to say.

While extensive work has been done to the exterior of the car, the interior remains in its stock specification, meaning there is black leather adorning the bucket seats, steering wheel, door panels, and dashboard. There are also various exposed aluminum accents and a carbon fiber shift knob.

Curiously, the listing doesn’t state how many miles the car has under its belt but judging by the immaculate condition of the interior, we suspect it hasn’t been driven all that much and has clearly been well maintained and cared for from the moment it rolled off the production line.
