TikTok has become one of the hottest social media platforms in recent years, after being boosted by its younger audience. A new study shows the most popular automakers on TikTok, alongside the models and the car-themed influencers gathering the most attention on the platform.

The study was conducted by Confused.com, highlighting the top 10 brands, the top 5 models, and the top 3 influencers on TikTok. Interestingly the only common thing with a similar study from last year is that BMW remains the most popular automaker on the platform.

This year, BMW claims the top spot with a total of 49.2 billion views, far ahead of its main rival Mercedes-Benz who occupies second place with 27.1 billion views. In third and fourth place we have a tie, with fellow premium German automaker Audi and Japanese automaker Honda gathering 20.4 billion views each.

Another tie is found in the fifth and sixth positions between Tesla and Ford with 19.1 billion views, narrowly leaving Lamborghini in the seventh spot with 19 billion views. The top ten is completed by Toyota (15.8 billion views), Ferrari (13 billion views), and Nissan (11 billion views), with the latter still capitalizing on the internet fame of the aging GT-R.

The situation is quite different when it comes to the most viewed car models on TikTok. The Ford Maverick pickup (10.9 billion views) proved to be slightly more popular than the Mustang (10.7 billion views), gifting the first two spots to Ford. The Toyota Supra (9.3 billion views) occupies the third spot ahead of the Nissan GT-R (8.4 billion views), leaving the Honda Civic (4.1 billion views) in the last spot of the top 5.

When it comes to influencers, Daniel Mac – known as the “excuse me I love your car what do you do for a living” guy – is the most popular car-themed profile on TikTok with 12.6 million followers. Alex Hirschi, widely known by her nickname Supercar Blondie, is also quite popular with 10.6 million followers on TikTok (very close to her 10.4 million followers on Instagram and 9.06 million subscribers on YouTube), while Dima Gordey comes third with 5.1 million followers.
