The long-wheelbase Volkswagen ID. Buzz won’t arrive in the United States until 2024, but that hasn’t stopped the company from unveiling a new short-wheelbase variant.

Of course, short is an understatement as we’re talking about the Tiny Buzz, which is a soccer / football delivery vehicle that made its debut at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 tournament in the United Kingdom.

Volkswagen didn’t say much about the model, but it’s essentially a pint-sized ID. Buzz with a rainbow livery. However, there’s a big difference as the Tiny Buzz has a circular hole in its roof which allows the model to hold a soccer ball. This comes in pretty handy as the Tiny Buzz is ‘driven’ onto the field to deliver balls as needed.

In a sign of the times, the Tiny Buzz has an official Twitter account which is shared with a Tiny ID.4. The latter model has been around for a while and has delivered balls across the world.

In an effort to stop saying balls, let’s get back to the full-size ID. Buzz which rides on the MEB platform. It will initially be launched in Europe with an 82 kWh battery pack that feeds a rear-mounted electric motor developing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque. It’s slated to be joined by “more battery versions with various power output levels” in 2023.
