The MG4 EV was introduced last month and now the company has announced pricing will start at £25,995.

The entry-level MG4 EV SE Standard Range features a 51 kWh battery pack that provides 218 miles (351 km) of range in the WLTP cycle. It powers a rear-mounted electric motor developing 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque.  This enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 7.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 100 mph (161 km/h).

In terms of equipment, the hatchback will have LED lighting units and 17-inch alloy wheels. Buyers will also find a “simple, elegant” interior with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system featuring Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Other highlights include an automatic climate control system, adaptive cruise control, and the MG Pilot advanced driver assistance system. The latter includes Active Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Bicyclist Detection, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Jam Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist with Traffic Sign Recognition, and Intelligent High Beam Assist. They’re joined by rear parking sensors and MG iSmart app connectivity.

The mid-level MG4 EV SE Long Range is a mouthful and it starts at £28,495. As the name suggests, it has been equipped with a larger 64 kWh battery pack that increases the WLTP range to 281 miles (452 km).

Besides the longer range, the model is outfitted with a more powerful electric motor developing 200 hp (150 kW / 203 PS) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque.  Despite the extra oomph, the long range variant is slower than the base model as the dash to 60 mph (96 km/h) takes 7.7 seconds. The top speed also remains unchanged at 100 mph (161 km/h).

Much of the equipment appears to be shared with the entry-level variant, but the SE Long Range comes equipped with an active shutter grille system that improves aerodynamic efficiency by up to 30%. This helps to increase the car’s range by up to 10%.

The £31,495 MG4 EV Trophy sits at the top of the lineup and has a 64 kWh battery that delivers 270 miles (435 km) of range. That’s less than the MG4 EV SE Long Range, but the Trophy comes better equipped as buyers will find heated leather front seats, a heated steering wheel, and GPS navigation. Other niceties include a wireless smartphone charger and a 360 degree camera system.

On the styling front, there’s a contrasting black roof, rear privacy glass, and a “twin aero rear spoiler.” The model also has digital key technology as well as driver assistance systems such as Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The hatchback measures 168.8 inches (4,287 mm) long with a wheelbase spanning 106.5 inches (2,705 mm).  The model also has a 50:50 weight distribution and is MG’s first vehicle to ride on the Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), which will eventually underpin a “wide range of forthcoming cars.”
