Dramatic footage has resurfaced from 2019 showing the driver of a Subaru Outback somehow avoiding serious injury after crashing into a school bus in southwest Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dashcam footage recently shared to Reddit of the October 2019 incident from a nearby motorist shows the driver of the Outback carelessly speeding along a turning lane while heading towards an intersection, seemingly to avoid some of the traffic. However, the driver was in for a very rude surprise when they actually reached the intersection.

Just as the Subaru approached, a yellow school bus emerged into the intersection, making a left-hand turn onto McDowell Farms Drive. The driver of the Outback can be seen slamming on the brakes and swerving to the left in an attempt to avoid the bus but it was too late.

The huge school bus ends of clipping the side of the Outback, pushing it violently to the left and into a curb. This impact lifts the Subaru onto two wheels and it proceeds to roll two times, only coming to rest while lying on its side.

WSOC-TV 9 reports that there was one school student on the bus at the time and that they were not injured. The bus driver also avoided injury. Of course, this isn’t much of a surprise as it was a relatively small shunt for the bus. What is more surprising is the fact that the driver of the Subaru walked away from the crash without any injuries.
