The Ferrari F50 formerly owned by heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is expected to sell for between $4.5 million and $5.5 million when it crosses the auction block at Gooding & Company’s Pebble Beach auction running from August 19-20.

This particular F50 is chassis 104220 and was completed on February 13, 1996. It is painted in the iconic shade of Rosso Corsa and is one of just 55 units that were originally built for the U.S. market.

The auction house reveals that it was delivered new through Ferrari North America to Beverly Hills Sports Car to broker Nadir Amirvand. It then quickly passed into the hands of Mike Tyson before being sold in 2001 through Park Place Ltd. to Infospace co-founder Kevin Marcus.

Over the following two decades, the car has passed through the hands of multiple collectors. In May this year, the current owner sent it to Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale where it underwent a major service that included the fitment of a new clutch and tires, while also undergoing work on the front suspension lift and air conditioning. It was also recertified for the Ferrari Classiche Red Book and in June 2022, the Alcantara interior panels were removed and recovered. More than $75,000 has been spent on the car in the past six months.

The iconic Ferrari is being sold with its removable hardtop, tool, bulb, and tire inflator kits, a leather handbook folio, owner’s manual, warranty book, original window sticker, car cover, emergency soft top, factory presentation book, and luggage. It is being sold with just 6,193 miles (9,966 km) on the clock.
