Monterey Pad Is First American “Range Rover House” Owners’ Hangout

Land Rover is inviting Range Rover owners visiting Monterey Car Week to take a break from spending grotesque amounts of money on old Ferraris and drop by its first North American hangout nestled in the trees overlooking Monterey Bay.

The first North American “Range Rover House” is one of series of special locations around the world accessible by owners and hopes to entice visitors with various activities and refreshments, plus the chance to see a new limited edition Range Rover.

The modernist home in Carmel Highlands is an invite-only affair, and promises five nights of entertainment including a wine-tasting dinner hosted by Max Kast, boss of a famous Napa Valley winery, and a sustainable dining evening featuring a celebrity chef. Sustainable dining? Sounds like it’s mealworms, crickets and locusts for supper to me.

There will be a display of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models, a design suite, opportunities to buy lifestyle branded accessories, and access to a limited edition Range Rover SV Carmel Edition, which has been created specifically for the event. Basically loads of opportunities for Land Rover to flog you stuff. But to escape the sales pitch you can opt to learn about the house’s specific location and the ongoing efforts to preserve it from marine biologists working with the National Marine Sanctuary.

Guests will be able to relax, enjoy the stunning natural and architectural environment and spend time with our newest Range Rover models, including the Range Rover SV Carmel Edition, curated specifically for offer to those in attendance.”

Jeep Wagoneer owners are not welcome, a Land Rover spokesman confirmed, but we hear there’s a hot dog stand on Highway 1 just north of Carmel Highlands and Stellantis has put $100 in the smallholder’s hand to cover the first dozen arrivals.
