Porsche has lifted the veil on a special Porsche Macan that will serve as the main prize for a raffle at the Leipzig Opera Ball on September 24.

The German car manufacturer will serve as the presenter of the event for the ninth time and proceeds raised throughout the night will benefit the ‘Leipzig helps children’ foundation that promotes social projects in the region.

Making this Macan stand out is the Signal Yellow paint, a color that has been part of Porsche’s palette since the 1970s but is rarely seen on the Macan. The SUV has also been made unique with ‘Leipziger Opernball 2022’ lettering on one side and ’20 Years of Porsche Leipzig’ lettering on the opposite side.

“With this special vehicle, we are creating an attractive incentive to purchase tickets on the evening of the opera ball,” Porsche Leipzig chief executive Gerd Rupp said in a statement. “Every ticket sold helps to implement social projects.”

Porsche has a strong presence in Leipzig and operates a café at the local Porsche Experience Center that is open to the public and takes design inspiration from a 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7 finished in Signal Yellow that’s actually on display in the café.

The Porsche Macan was most recently in the news last week when the carmaker revealed its intent to build upwards of 80,000 all-electric Macan models annually once production ramps up fully. While the electric Macan has yet to be unveiled, Porsche has said it will be built alongside the combustion model for approximately two years before the ICE version is killed off.
