We’ve had a number of intriguing used-car challenges of late. We asked you to find the fastest car from 0-60 mph for $20k or less, and then we followed up with the best winter beater for $5k and the weirdest car for $2k or less. Now, we’re upping the budget and asking for the best-handling car for $25,000 or less. The options are extensive.

Just like in our 0-60 challenge, a well-cared-for C5 Corvette or a decent C6 Corvette might be an easy choice. Each one is known for its outstanding balance and connection to the road surface. Nevertheless, there are a number of other noteworthy choices for this kind of cash.

RacingJunk.com isn’t as useful when it comes to cars that need to handle a corner. With that in mind, we’d be searching for something akin to this 2013 Toyota Scion FR-S. Not only does it sport a manual transmission but it’s supercharged to boot.

The one major gripe about the original Scion FR-S was that it was devoid of power. This one has a supercharger though and while no horsepower number is provided, we can be confident that it’s far more than stock.

Ultimately though, the answer is always Miata and we think we’ve found the perfect one for this challenge. This 2017 Mazda MX-5 Grand Touring is $500 over budget but worth every penny. Not only is the Mazda MX-5 already world-famous for its fun factor and handling ability but this one has even more going for it.

That includes Titan 7 17×9-inch wheels with Falken RT600 tires, an OS Giken 2-way limited-slip differential, Verus under-body panels along with side and rear diffusers, a GWR Roadster sport race exhaust, and Karcepts pro bushings. Those are substantial upgrades on an already exceptional vehicle.

Do you think you can find something that’ll beat it for $25k? Let us know in the comments below what you think is the best handling car for that kind of cash.
