Hyundai Motor Company has thrown its support behind South Korea’s bid to host the World EXPO 2030 by recruiting K-pop band BTS and Spot, the four-legged robot from subsidiary Boston Dynamics.

A pair of videos have been released that show Spot dancing to various BTS songs and traveling to a recent concert held by BTS at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium. The robots also escorted the singers on to stage.

During the concert, Hyundai set up a brand booth and presented its ‘Goal of the Century’ campaign that was kicked off in April for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup. In addition to displaying T-shirts worn by BTS members, the automaker offered eco-bags from Hyundai’s MobED mobility platform and BTS for those that registered as supporters of the Goal of the Century campaign.

“Hyundai Motor and BTS have collaborated since 2018 and our latest effort aims to draw domestic and foreign support for hosting World EXPO 2030 in Busan,” global chief marketing officer and head of customer experience division at Hyundai Motor Company, Thomas Schemera, described. “We will continue to communicate with customers around the world about Hyundai’s future mobility vision and enhance Korea’s international status so that the World EXPO 2030 can be held in Busan.”

Hyundai became the first Korean conglomerate to establish a task force dedicated to supporting Busan’s bid for World EXPO 2030. In July, it invited high-ranking officials from 10 major Latin American countries to Hyundai Motorstudio Busan to gather support for the campaign.
