Chrysler is the brand that invented the minivan more than 40 years and six generations ago, and now it’s celebrating that rich history of hauling families with a new special edition of its latest minivan: the Pacifica Road Tripper.

Largely an appearance package, the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Road Tripper gets Luster Gray Road Tripper graphics that are outlined in Brilliant Orange on the driver and passenger-side doors. Offered with both the hybrid and non-hybrid powertrains, the former gets 18-inch wheels and the latter gets 20-inchers. They are finished in Luster Gray, while the center caps get Brilliant Orange Chrysler wing badge logos.

That same logo is finished in a semi-gloss Granite Crystal on the front grille and lift gate, and they’re highlighted with Brilliant Orange center inserts. Several other accent trim pieces on the front grille, the door moldings, the door handles, and the mirror caps are also finished in semi-gloss Granite Crystal.

The package does also include functional features, like a standard roof rack that is compatible with Mopar carriers, such as bike racks and cargo carriers. In addition, the model comes with all-weather floor mats, and it’s available with Uconnect Theater and Amazon Fire TV to keep the kids entertained on longer trips. The non-hybrid models, meanwhile, get the Trailer Tow Group as standard, which means they can pull up to 3,600 pounds (1,633 kg).

The Road Tripper name, meanwhile, was selected by fans of the brand, who were asked to vote on several potential options in a poll posted on social media. Chrysler says its followers reacted positively to the image of a family going on a road trip in the minivan.

Available in three exterior colors, the Pacifica Road Tripper can be optioned in Bright White, Brilliant Black, and Ceramic Gray. It is also offered on three trim levels: the Pacifica Touring L (where it’s a $2,395 option), the Pacifica Touring L AWD (where it’s a $2,095 option), and the Pacifica Touring L Hybrid (on which it is a $1,495 option).

“Chrysler has been helping families get together and get away for decades, and the Chrysler Pacifica Road Tripper celebrates our minivan’s role as the perfect vehicle for creating unforgettable family moments on the road,” said Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand CEO. “Pacifica is the ultimate ‘Van Life for Real Life’ solution, and makes lives easier with innovative high-tech features, award-winning interior comfort and safety technology.”
