Porsche Reinvents Their Famous Exhaust Speaker With $12k 911 Soundbar 2.0 Pro

For many automotive afficionados, memorabilia made from original car parts is often quite desirable. Porsche seems to know that, as they’ve just released a new speaker called the 911 Soundbar 2.0 Pro, which is made from the exhaust of a real 911. Limited to just 500 examples, each one is adorned with its own numbered plaque, but it also costs an eye-watering $12,000.

Serving as a follow-up to the original 911 Soundbar, the speaker is made from actual components of the 992 GT3‘s exhaust system. That being said, for the kind of money one would theoretically be spending on it, you’d think Porsche would go through the trouble of prettying it up a bit. We can understand the desire for a “right off the car” look, but we feel like they should’ve at least cleaned up the heat shielding and metalwork, especially seeing as they made an effort to finish the exhaust tips.

Nevertheless, the speaker features 2.1.2 virtual surround sound, 300 watts of power, 4K HDMI ports, Bluetooth 5.0, Dolby Atmos DTS-HD, and streaming with Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast built in. Additionally, the speaker is equipped with streaming technology that allows it to communicate with Porsche’s other soundbars, such as the 911 Soundbar Special Edition, the 911 Soundbar Final Edition, and various other Porsche Originals sound products.

The speaker can either be hung on the wall or simply placed on a flat surface using the provided base, which has us wondering if any wealthy Porsche owner would ever considering buying a matching rear bumper and taillights to make a whole GT3 entertainment center.
