Is the Pininfarina Battista a little too affordable or a little too common for you? If your answer is yes, then the Italian car manufacturer has just the thing for you, the new Automobili Pininfarina B95. This €4.4 million ($4.8 million) creation has been unveiled as part of Monterey Car Week, is capped at just 10 units, and shares its powertrain with the Battista.

The exclusive open-air two-seater has a gorgeous silhouette using Pininfarina’s current PURA design philosophy and looks comparatively simple compared to the body of the Battista. Dominating the front end is the protruding splitter and the thin LED headlights, situated on a low-slung fascia that gradually flows upward to the pronounced front fenders and a hood with vertical veins.

Making the B95 unique from most other Speedster and Barchettas we’ve seen launched in recent years is the fact that both the driver and passenger have unique, electronically adjustable aero screens. They take inspiration from vintage fighter planes and are made from clear polycarbonate with exposed aluminum supports and can be easily raised and lowered to improve comfort.

The example heading to Monterey is finished primarily in a shade of grey known as Bronzo Superga that is contrasted by Giallo Arneis yellow accents across the front and the driver’s side buttress. The car also features numerous carbon fiber accents and is fitted with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged aluminum wheels painted in matte black with exposed aluminum outers. The brake calipers are finished in Giallo Arneis.

Pininfarina has ensured that the interior of the B95 is just as special as the outside. A sculpted carbon fiber dashboard with a floating wing design immediately catches the eye and has been trimmed in Tan Sustainable Luxury Leather. The seats have the same leather finish while the headrests are Pied de Poule Houndstooth Luxury Textile with black and white elements.

As you would expect for a vehicle costing this much, customers will be offered virtually endless customization and personalization options when ordering their B95.

Like the Battista, the Pininfarina B95 is driven by a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery pack driving four electric motors to deliver a combined 1,874 hp. It can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 2 seconds and a top speed exceeding 186 mph (300 km/h), more than fast enough for a car without a windshield. The battery can be charged from 20-80% in just 25 minutes.

“This is the most exciting chapter of the Automobili Pininfarina story so far – we’re taking another big step forward,” Automobili Pininfarina chief executive Paolo Dellachà said. “The introduction of the B95 is the third of three essential building blocks this summer for our brand. First, we introduced the Battista Edizione Nino Farina, an exclusive celebration of Pininfarina’s racing son – also the first Formula 1 World Champion. The launch of the PURA Vision design concept then unlocked a new design philosophy for all future models from our brand, across a spectrum of different segments. Now, our new Barchetta shows how these design principles can be applied – with a retro-futuristic vision fusing classic motorsport themes with the latest technological innovations, materials and processes.”

Production of the Pininfarina B95 will start in 2025, the same year that the company will celebrate its 95th anniversary.
