The 2024 Nissan Z Nismo is already proving to be a hit in Australia with the first allocation of 100 units selling out in less than one hour.

Of the 100 examples initially landing Down Under, 50 of them were offered to those who had already ordered a regular Z and were awaiting delivery. Once 50 customers had decided to upgrade to the Z Nismo, the remaining 50 vehicles were available to reserve through the Nissan Australia website. In the first 11 minutes, 22 of these vehicles were reserved and the remaining 28 units were allocated some 42 minutes later.

Locals could order the Z Nismo in either Black Diamond Metallic, Brilliant Silver with a Super Black roof, Everest White with a Super Black Roof, or Stealth Gray with a Black roof. They were then required to place a AU$1,000 ($653) reservation fee.

“The excitement surrounding the entire Z range has been fantastic, and it just goes to show there’s still a real appetite for performance in Australia,” Nissan Australia managing director Adam Paterson said. “The new Z NISMO reaches new performance heights for this incredibly iconic nameplate, and I’m excited for our customers to experience it for themselves.”

Aussie pricing for the 2024 Nissan Z Nismo starts at AU$94,000 ($61,579), a significant premium over the AU$75,800 ($49,656) commanded by the regular model. For the extra coin, customers receive a tuned 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder with 309 kW (420 hp) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque. This engine is coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission that routes power through the rear wheels. Unfortunately, the Nismo is not offered with a six-speed manual.

A handful of other changes have been made to the Z Nismo. These include the fitment of 19-inch Rays wheels, new stabilizer bars, a stiffer spring rate, and larger dampers that have been tweaked. The car also sits on wider tires and has additional chassis bracing.
