Just when we thought pickup trucks could be any cooler than the almighty Ram 1500 TRX, a popular automotive influencer has taken the Hellcat-powered truck and turned it into a tiny, two-door, two-seater that’s bound to influence similar builds in the future.

While one could have forgiven Chuy RMZ for taking a pre-existing single-cab pickup and outfitting it with the TRX’s powertrain, he instead started out with a regular 1500 TRX and proceeded to cut it in half and significantly reduce the wheelbase. The pickup truck’s chassis and body were then welded back together.

As TheDrive pointed out, the influencer wasn’t satisfied with simply owning a short-wheelbase 1500 TRX and has also converted it from four-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive only by ditching the front driveshaft. Yes, this does mean that the truck isn’t as capable off-road as it would have previously been but it does mean that it can do burnouts just as impressive as those of a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

Don’t forget, the stock TRX is powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 that puts out  702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque allowing the pickup to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 4.5 seconds and the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph (174 km/h).

Of course, there are plenty of risks in modifying a car like this, and cutting the frame can have detrimental effects. If Chuy RMZ simply cut the frame and welded it back together, it’s probably not as strong as it once was and may adversely impact the truck’s safety.

Chuy refers to his modified Ram as the Baby TRX and we’re sure that the shortened wheelbase and rear-wheel drive conversion makes it heaps of fun to drive. Sure, the handling dynamics may be a little off due to the change in the truck’s overall weight distribution but it would also weigh significantly less than a standard TRX so in a straight line, it may be even quicker.

If there’s anyone out there with a Ford F-150 Raptor R looking to make it unique, copying Chuy RMZ’s formula is certainly one way to go.
