It would be nice to assume that individuals buying vehicles like the Ferrari SF90 Stradale are driving enthusiasts who are perfectly in tune with their cars and can notice when something goes wrong with them. Unfortunately, not all drivers are like this, as evidenced by this recent clip of an SF90 Stradale driving on a flat tire.

Very little context has been provided about this incident but we can see that it was filmed on California State Route 73 near Bonita Canyon Drive. It shows a bright blue SF90 Stradale driving on a flat tire at highway speeds and it appears as though the driver is either oblivious to the flat tire or simply doesn’t think there is a need to pull over.

It’s impossible to say for our long the tire on the car was flat but given that smoke was pouring out of the wheel well at the start of the video, we suspect the Ferrari driver had been driving on it for quite some time. Things quickly escalate as the entire tire can then be seen rolling off the rim of the Ferrari and into the path of the car that was filming.

The video cuts out at this point but it seems likely that the car filming the incident was struck by the runaway tire. The Ferrari, meanwhile, will have been left driving on its rim, inevitably destroying the wheel. It’s hard to tell which of the available wheels this SF90 Stradale has but they do appear similar to the multi-spoke carbon fiber wheels it is available with. Buying a new set of these wheels costs upwards of $80,000.

The most staggering part about the incident is the fact that the driver didn’t even slow down while driving on the flat. We have no doubt it would have been vibrating the car and making an awful sound and yet, that wasn’t enough to prompt any visible action from the driver.
