Lamborghini is giving us a look into the future by unveiling the Telemetry X concept, which is billed as a “preview of the connected services our customers will be able to experience in the coming years.”

Introduced at CES, the concept is focused on telemetry and aims to provide drivers with an immersive track driving experience. As part of this effort, it includes a Digital Co-Pilot, a Biometric Data System, and a remote coaching function known as Real Time Remote Garage.

Starting with the latter, Remote Garage uses 5G technology to upload telemetry and real-time video of track drives to the internet. This can be monitored by a driving coach, who provides the driver with instant feedback as well as suggestions about what to do in certain situations. Lamborghini says the service would “provide an even more complete and engaging track experience while enhancing the driver’s performance, ensuring fun driving based on a user-friendly approach.”

The Biometric Data System is exactly what it sounds like as it’s a monitoring system that collects an assortment of information. This includes the heart rate and stress level of drivers.

Last but not least is the Digital Co-Pilot. It’s a “proactive voice assistant that compares both biometric and vehicle data to give feedback to the pilot while driving on the track.” As an example, Lamborghini said the system could analyze lap times and provide tips on the ideal racing line as well as when to brake.

Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr said, “Telemetry X is a clear demonstration of how experience gained in motorsport can find applications for road-going super sports cars, with the aim of maximizing our customers’ experience on the track as well.” He added, “It’s no coincidence that we chose the Revuelto as the test bed for this technological demonstrator, a car that is totally unique precisely because of the introduction of breakthrough technologies.”
